The United Way once again is sponsoring their "Day of Caring" scheduled for Saturday, April 25th. The United Way in cojunction with PennDot will supply gloves and garbage bags for neighborhood clean-ups. Also, the United Way in partnership with the City of Erie will collect trash from the clean-ups. Registration deadline is March 20th. Call the Council 814.454.3808 for more information.

CERT -- Citizens Emergency Response Team The CERT Team here in Erie is looking for volunteers to help first responders in the event of an emergency. Training is available. Get involved in your community! Contact Dave Deter (870-1277) for more information. |

| Call the Erie County Sheriff's office to learn more about used cell phones, emergency porch lights, deaf or hard of hearing cards, bracelets for people who suffer from autism or alzheimer's illness, emergency health magnets, and other relevant programs. | Contact the chief Fire Inspector (870-1402) to obtain a smoke alarm or carbon monoxide detector for your home. These items are available at a discounted cost (or in some circumstances for free). Installation is available. |
