Greater Kahkwa Neighborhood Watch
Boundaries – West 8th to South Shore Drive
Lincoln to Pittsburgh Ave, Ferncliff Beach
The Watch meets annually, the first Monday in June at Harding
School. Although we meet annually, we have the active support of
62 block captains available at all times.
The Watch Group organized in 1994. A group of neighbors met at
St Joseph’s Home to become aware of problems and formed the
Greater Kahkwa Neighborhood Watch.
Some issues that the Watch Group has addressed is Hanky
Panky/Juliets adult club. Activities have curtailed/subsided.
Identified and involved with the Erie Western Port Authority plans to
sell and park land and Yacht Club Rd. and Ravine Drive plans.
Close contact of Block Captains fostering awareness and
cooperation among neighbors to be cognizent of incidents.
Our Watch has established partnerships with the Erie Neighborhood
Watch council, Erie Police, District Justice, Shriner’s Hospital and
Erie Yacht Club to name a few.
